Rainy, wet pavement. Two good shots Have to decide on
For an assignment titled, "Rainy, wet pavement". I have two good shots and have to decide on one. Pictorial Prints is the competition.
The first image meets that criteria for me in a more colorful view
#1. Is very unique and looks like a season's greetings photo.
#2. is very traditional long exposure cityscape.
I like both for different reasons. Personally, if I were going to print one out I would choose #1 because it is kind of an abstract feel, and I like the starbursts from the yellow lights.

I don't get the
wet pavement in number two at all.
I like it, but not for the theme.
#1 sticks more to the criteria
Looks like payment is covered with wet snow on #2.
#2 almost fails to meet the criteria.
I would save it for another category.
#1 screams wet pavement! The reflections and abstract colors are great. The sewer cover is a nice touch too. I like #2 as well, but to me it says more city life and sky line, the taillights obscure the wet (maybe just damp) pavement.
Nice pictures!
#2 doesn't really say "wet pavement". I like it, though.
Ditto on other comments. Like both but based on assignment title need to go with #1. If I was a judge would have to disqualify #2 not meeting enough criteria if any.
I would select #1 for the rainy, wet pavement photo.
There's a little perspective distortion going on with the photo. I downloaded the photo and opened it in DxO ViewPoint 3. It has sophisticated tools for correcting lens distortions and perspective distortions. The software recognized that a Nikon D4S was used with a Nikon 24-120mm f/4 lens. They have distortion profiles for that lens that can be downloaded and used to automatically make corrections.
