A natural spillway on a North Carolina stream near the French Broad River.

Thanks for looking.

Question: Aesthetically, would it look better with the lower falls leveled?

Did you ever consider "four seasons" images of that location? NICE work.

Longshadow, Look at the tree trunks. If you level the falls the trees are no longer vertical.

First impression thought was the same as Longshadow, until I downloaded. The tree trunks magically straighten. Bravo Zulu!

Even with the download, the left side of the falls seems much higher than the right.
It might be the perspective, but I sometimes alter perspective so the image "looks" better.
I did download and level the falls just to see what would happen. Aesthetically it looks better (to me) and the trees are not at a wonky angle.

Are all trees always vertical? No.
Try downloading and rotating a bit.
Besides, the falls are the focal point, not the trees.

I actually thought about that, but then the trees end up really tilted but worse, the water then does not fall straight down.

I have thought of that for lots of the places I've been. Sadly I live 900 miles from this location. I may be able to get a summer photo this year however. :-)

Well,in this one the left side is lower...
May I post my interpretation?

Also, remember the water will not be falling straight down--maybe gravity doesn't apply there. :-)

Not all waterfalls or spillways are level. nature is never perfect.
