That is a perfect shot in every way!
It's a very nice shot but the most surprising thing to me about it is the fact there are absolutely no other cars on the road. How nice.
First look, Jim? Given the itinerary you described, wasn't that the last look? Whatever, well done.
(Next time --and there'll undoubtedly be a next time for you-- go for the truly classic shot: same shot you've got, but as seen in the reflection of your rear view mirror.)

Enjoyed viewing this one!
Never been there, yet....

Very well done. Good thing it's not a busy road. vz

As you're coming in from the north.
Returned home last evening from a swing through southeastern Utah, southwest Colorado and Monument northeast Arizona. We visited Canyon of the Ancients, Mesa Verde, Shiprock, Valley of the Gods and Monument valley...it was a beautiful trip! There was snow on the ground, or snowing, everywhere and it was hard to get above 30*'s. It was a beautiful trip! This is a shot as we were leaving Monument Valley yesterday morning on our way home. I find the winter better light better than summer light, for photography.
In the movie Forrest Gump, this is the place where he stopped running.
