Back in the early 1960’s, I would go with my dad to the school darkroom to “help” him develop his pictures. I was so fascinated with it! Taking photographs in high school made memories that caused me and my friends to smile. That hooked me. Now, I love trying to artistically capture the beauty of nature, whether it’s traveling around the country, or walking in the woods behind my house. Canon 5D Mark ll with various lenses. Also Panasonic LUMIX. I’m strictly amateur with no desire to ever be pro. It’s a hobby with no pressure.

I have two goals while shooting the above. 1-facebook photos for my wife to post. 2- printing said photos to look at without turning on a computer.

I take images looking for that one in a thousand. Years ago I got that 1st one at Bushkill Falls that won me $500.00 prize from the Pocono Vacation Bureau. Since I have gotton a few more that are printed and hanging in my den and office.

Your reason for getting into photography mirrors mine exactly. Bought my first camera in 1969, a used Petri 7s, from someone I knew back then. I have loved taking pictures every since. I’m not all that good and haven’t entered contests. Many of my photos are hanging on my walls as well as family and friends. I also make travel books through Shutterfly after most trips.

I am currently putting together a decades thanksgiving book of all our family thanksgivings since 1992. It is proving to be fun and challenging. Our thanksgivings have ranged in size from 12 to more recently in the mid 40’s. I think everyone will enjoy the book and will probably want to order one. The first couple thanksgivings were done on film. My first digital was a Nikon e990. It had a small zoom and I think 4 megapixels. Over the years I have upgraded and am now using a d7200.

In college I did an internship with the local newspaper. I had several photos published, 2 of which were on the front page above the fold.

I also worked for the schools public relations department and after college a weekly newspaper part time for a little extra cash

Anyway that’s my story

Chuck
