We love him because he first loved us.
We love him because he first loved us.
I wonder how many people actually give that any real thought? (I mean Christians) This is 100% backwards from how most Christians would describe salvation and how it happens.
Nice image.

I completely agree, salvation has become about the glory of man when it is intended to glorify the Creator God!

As you say - a nice image.
It is a debatable point regarding this describing 'salvation'. In the KJV both the 'Him' and the 'He' are translated from the same Greek word 'hemas". In many other translations the word 'Him' is omitted making it "We love because he first loved us." and IMHO makes a lot more sense.

That has nothing to do with the post. It's not debatable at all...not even a little bit.

It’s fine. We tend to debate things to death in our country. Over analyze and cause division over so many things. It’s so encouraging to talk to missionaries that don’t get hung up on minutia and are about the Gospel.
re: "We love Him because he first loved us."
And: This is 100% backwards from how most Christians would describe salvation and how it happens.
My comment: It is a debatable point regarding this describing 'salvation'.
And your response: That has nothing to do with the post. It's not debatable at all...not even a little bit
Hi, You started a debate by writing “This is 100% backwards” without giving a reason for your opinion. Neither did you show that this verse explains “ how it happens.”
Both "We love him because he first loved us." and "We love because he first loved us." correctly describes those who already have ‘salvation’
IMHO the best scripture to show “ how it happens.” is John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
To Me, Christian debate ( Discussion) is to get a better understanding, not an argument about who is right and who is wrong.
To get back to Photography, people in this SIG are far better than me in fitting a scripture to a photograph:
What would you suggest for this one?
