I shot these here in the San Diego area recently. I've checked a couple of bird ID websites, but have not been able to ID.

My Merlin app tells me it a common Shelduck. Nice photo by the way.
Google juvenile common shelduck and you’ll find it.

According to the Google search I did, I doubt it's a Common Shelduck since they're not located in North America.

Looks like a Mallard hybrid to me. They cross with domestic ducks frequently.

Our guess is that mallards cross breed with other “wild” ducks, not necessarily just with domestic ducks. We also have geese that have characteristics of Canada Geese and Greater White-Fronted.

I have read that such crosses are frequently associated with ponds and other relatively limited habitats where birds tend to reside year round, abandoning migration.

Mallard/domestic Duck hybrid. These things are found all over the place where the two species occur. I.e. almost any city park/pond.

Ducks are notorious hybridizers, and many types can be found. However the Domestic/Mallard is the commonest, and this picture is like lots of others I see on Facebook, here, etc, where people want to know what they have.

I would agree with everyone that proclaimed Mallard hybrid. On page 16 of Sibley's Guide to birds there is an identical picture of a Mallard hybrid variant including the large yellow bill.
