Spelling Practice

I took a couple of shots of our 6 year old granddaughter last night practicing her spelling on my computer. I have a Little Panasonic FH20 that was handy so I gave it a go. It has a setting for grainy black and white so I tried that along with color. This little girl was born into our family as my wife and I were just retiring and she has made our retirement a true joy. Such a wonderful blessing from God.

Both are nice photos, but my eye prefers the black and white grainy one. Can't explain it but it just seems to tell more of a story for me. Glad you had the camera handy... life's little moments are sometimes the best. TY for posting

Oh, and by the way, late in life children can be real treasures... I know from experience .... I am one. Parents were mid 40's when I was born.....sure am glad they brought me into this world. She is a beautiful gift.

Thanks DB, I actually preferred the B&W myself. Her Daddy, (our son) was 38 when she was born. Our older son who is 49 and was just married last year is expecting their first sometime today. We are just waiting for the phone call. Wish we could be there but it is a long way from here.

You are a beautiful writer and you told avery beautiful story but in the pictures you failed to show what the subject was doing. Where,s the face and excitement of the child on the computer.

Thanks for the compliment. Actually the computer is located facing and abutting a wall. I didn't want to move her as she was unaware of my camera. She was so engrossed in what she was doing she never noticed I was there.

Thanks jokescache1,
The camera belonged to my father-in-law. He bought it back in the 30's while he was working in the CCC camps. I have everything that came with it including the protective packing and an adapter to make half size negatives. I even have the instruction book. It takes 620 film. If you have 620 spools it is possible to put 120 film on them and still use the camera.

Thank you,
My wife and I just love that little girl for all we are worth. I sometimes wonder how we ever deserved such a wonderful gift. Her Mom and Dad are bringing her up right too. She has wonderful manners and is very respectful of everyone.
