I took this over the summer. Settings are 26mm, f/13, ISO 100, 1/100 sec. The red roof makes it really hard to get the color right!
Any suggestions welcome. I need to take a Christmas shot with all my wreaths and bows in the windows.....
Merry Christmas!
In LR, consider the HSL sliders to adjust the Hue and / or Saturation and / or Luminance of the Red color independently of the overall image. The posted image looks fine, but I don't have the house to see in real-life to compare this effort to your desired look. Here's a screen capture of moving some of the sliders around. I'd like 'whiter' clouds and a bit more saturation of the overall image.
That's a good photograph Gigi.
You're a Photographer in my book.
Warm wishes,
Alan.
PS. I like the saturation right where it is.

Imho, the property is the "hero" of this photo, and the clouds can stay
as they are and play a distant accompaniment.
You have it looking good from this location already, Gigi!
I would only frame it, so there is more space on the left side, though.
The large volume of the house would look better moving it more to the center.
Of course, if you can get a load of snow that - with your decorations, would make it really Christmassy looking.
Cheers!

Ditto! Use Lightroom, Photoshop or almost any editing software to adjust the red.

Try that at night with lights on but low, just enough, inside the house.

Gigi, your composition of this scene is just great. One thing that sort of sticks out though is the perspective of the garage. If you had a longer lens and backed up, it might flatten that out a little. Don't fall in the trap of putting the house in the center of the image as your placement is already perfect. Nice to live on the lake too, reminds me of when I did that and loved it.
I like your photo. That said, give what Paul offered a try.
The garage is actually a small (10'X 20') garden house and it really does look that much smaller than the house. I'm going to get out this afternoon and see what I can come up with! Sun is out and the sky is nice and blue....
