Recently we were asked to photograph the San Juan Capistrano Mission for our final project before the semester ends. Aside from a few, most of the class posted rather boring photos. I tried to think with my creative hat on to do something different. We also were asked to post bokeh photos.
These all look best in download mode.

Really nice pictures of the mission. I especially like the Christmas tree in #4. Beautiful composition. #6 is really creative. Tell your instructor I give you an A on this final project.

I really like #5, the first of the Santas. Nice job. I sure hope you get an A. If not, he needs to discuss it with this group.

Thanks a ton hiker60. #1 was manipulated somewhat........HDR to start then in Photoshop I darkened the edges to force the viewer to focus on the Christmas tree. Do you think I cheated a little?!?!?!?

Thank you foggypreacher for expressing yourself about #5. That photo was taken with my "automatic winner" lens........it's a Canon 135 Prime L series. It's simply amazing especially for portraits. The bokeh goes down to f2 and sharp as a tack. Thanks also for your support wanting me to get an A.......no grades for this class.......so no pressure!

I live on Mission Road just down the way (less than a mile) from Mission Concepcion in San Antonio Texas. Most Americans don't know that there re two mission systems in the US. it might be of interest should you visit from Cali to San Antonio.
In my garden I have a 'to scale' replica of the famous 'Rose Window', carved from sandstone located in another of the missions here called Mission San Jose. Though it would be fun to talk about San Antonio's mission system.

My friend and model Heather Jobe seated in my garden Rose Window.

Cheated a little. No. As a former college prof, I'd say your were quite creative. Extra points for stepping out of the comfort zone!!!!!
