I've had this gimbal for several months now...it's brilliant. so if you are looking to buy one, I can recommend this one. I was concerned that it might not be very good when I saw the price but it's extremely well made and the finish is excellent...all screw threads and nuts are stainless steel. It balances my D500 and my 150-600m lens just right. being fully adjustable it will work with pretty much any lens. The operation is very smooth and easy with ny sloppy joints or fittings.

You own a Manfrotto tripod with that gimbal........an excellent brand name. You should be a happy camper for years and years with the set up you have!

For sure Brent, I've taken some beaut shots with it...had a second prize in a National comp a few months ago...
This is the shot...
About 30 meters away with that set-up...no PP, just cropped to 8 X 10 ratio...
D500
Sigma 150-600mm @ 600mm.

Hand held.

I’m confused!!!
You said that you used this setup, meaning the tripod and gimbal, for this shot.
But then it says handheld!!!
Either way, it’s a beautiful photo!!!
Happy holidays, Randy

Sorry Randy, I added the hand held by mistake...force of habbit as most of my wildlife shots are hand held...comment now removed, thanks for pointing that out...
Cheers,
Ron.

I've been reading about it online. I was trying to find out if it has adjustable dampening on the tilt and panning axis.

What is that attachment called that you have affixed to the hot shoe and cabled into the camera ?? Images 3 & 4. What does it do? ~FiddleMaker

That looks suspiciously like a Wimberley Gimbal so must be a knock off. I have the original and it is wonderful, and at least 25 years old by now. I just bought their monopod version, which I like as well. Very nice image. Best of luck.

It is a Neewer receiving unit of a remote shutter release. The sending unit can remotely trigger the shutter from a distance.

No CO, it hasn't but I don't believe you'll need it..it's very smoooth in all directions. I feel it has some slight dampenning built in but it's not adjustable...I've never missed it.

It's a Hahnel remote release FM...not that I ever would but I can fire the camera from 100 meters away...
