My son was given a homework on culinary around
the globe. He decided (the day before yesterday) to
prepare a hamburger (minced meats + spices + etc.).
Our kitchen has no exhaustion devices for frying.
I told him to use his cell phone for the recording and
not my camera.
He used my camera.
The next early morning, the kitchen floor was slippery
and greasy.
I am still lacking the courage to get my camera off of
its case and examine it.
Please, what should I fear ? TIA.

Lock your camera gear up securely, and don't share the key! AND...be CAREFUL on that slippery floor!

Nothing - looks like grounds for justifiable homicide to me...

You can still send them back to the manufacturer until they are 18, right?

That was what caught my attention. I almost fell. At 5:30 am
I was not counting on that. Then I looked at my camera and my
hat and other items were visibly misplaced.
When confronted, he admitted the guilt.
I need to calm down, so I will wait one more day to evaluate
it there was any damage.

On his behalf, he said that he used the tripod and zoomed in.
I gotta watch the video to confirm that.
My main concern is that the lens (kit, not great) had no filter.

Not necessarily. His oven is over-protective and he is 17, consequently
he is already covered by his manufacturer.

Does the "oven" have a repair or replace warranty?

I meant repair or replace the damaged equipment. The actual produced article may already be beyond hope.

She is 48... I could trade her for a couple of 24's...

Restorative justice, he pays the cost of a professional cleaning.

Well... I took the camera off and it seems
it is all OK. The front element does not appear
to have grease/fat in it. The lens cover was not
in place and the card is missing.
Will wait for him to come back from school and
ask about the card.
Meno male....

OK. I just forwarded your comment to her email.

Was that OK?

That won't be needed, from what I have seen.
I am just waiting for the card to fully test the
functioning of the camera.
Will let you know.

Excellent ! If it is not on Facebook, she will not notice.
On the other hand, she would laugh. I am 60 and can
not (would never even try to) deal with only one 24.
