i need help to know how pay a speeding ticket that i got in Austria
Early in September i was going a little to fast and I need to pay a fine. Does anyone know how to send 40 Euros to the Austrian police. Western Union says they can't. The police seem to think i can wire it to them at a IBAN and BIC number but do not tell me how to do it. The credit card company is not much help nor Eurocar
Payment instructions are usually printed on the ticket. If the ticket is in German only, try scanning the ticket with one of the translation apps. There is probably a way to pay on-line. If that doesn't work try calling the Austrian Embassy.
Do you have any plans for going back to Austria? If not, why worry?

If you’re not planning to go there again, just forget it. Or else plan a spell in goal next trip???
I understood that most European countries require you to pay the officer at the time of the infraction. I know that at the Frankfort Airport (Flughafen), I had to pay a parking ticket, and a fee to prevent my rental car from being towed. The parking ticket was adjusted to the amount of money I had with me, to allow the tow truck driver to be satisfied with his fee. I took this as a scam and reported it to the US Army. The US Army did an investigation, and found nothing documented in the police records or the tow company records. So it likely was a scam, with a police officers participation.

This is the link to the American Embassy in Austria. They should be able to assist you.

Got a ticket in Italy 8 years ago. Didn't know it until we had been home a couple months and I got a letter from the rental agency saying they had forwarded my info to the police and charged me $75 for it. (i think that was the amount. Heard nothing for another month or two and then got the ticket from the police, in Italian of course. Using an online translator, I believe I was driving on a street I wasn't s'posed to be on. They said there was a pic online of the incident. I went to look at the pic and there was nothing there. I sent a letter to the police asking to have the ticket forgiven since the 'evidence' was not available and heard..........nothing. Wondering if I go back to Italy will I make it out of the airport or get arrested there??

Send a Check
I think I paid mine to the rental car company. That was 10 or 15 years ago and it was to Germany.

If it bothers you that much, I recommend contacting who you rented the car from. Also, check your rental car contract, in the fine print may be a statement that you agree to pay any fines while using the rental car with the credit card on file.
Since Austria is an EU member you might get into trouble in any EU member if you go back to Europe so you're right to pay the ticket. Just out of curiosity was it a camera triggered ticket or did you actually get stopped by the police?
Following might help quoted from another forum: "Austria uses a similar system to Belgium for photo tickets. The camera usually only photographs the rear of the vehicle, and the man sends the registered owner a letter telling him/her to pay up or identify the driver.
Avis gave your info to the man and charged you €35 for their "service".
Now, the man has to send you a letter with a fine. Until you get the fine with payment instructions, there's nothing you can do about it. And until they do, it's not your problem.
I have no idea whether Austria will actually mail you the fine in the US. Some European countries don't bother sending small fines outside Europe because they're virtually impossible to collect if the driver doesn't pay voluntarily.
If you do get a letter telling you to pay up, it'll almost certainly be by bank transfer. If you don't have a Euro account, you can use Transferwise or a similar money transfer service to put the €50 into the man's account for significantly less than your bank would charge you."

Achtung baby, ze Gestapo, zay haf vays and means!
If you're serious about paying it, your bank can probably arrange a wire transfer from your account to theirs using the data provided. Be aware that banks charge for these transfers. Mine charges $40.
Wait for the guys from INTERPOL to come knocking on your door? Maybe not...
Your bank should be able to help you.
