We had about 9 inches, then it warmed up and rained and it all went away. Then it snowed and we got about 3 inches. Just enough to justify getting the snow blower out. A couple days ago it was 5 degrees, and now it’s 40 degrees, and tomorrow it’s supposed to get up to 45 degrees. Winter, what is that?

forecast here in mid-Hudson River Valley calls for 50 degrees with rain Monday & Tuesday, high30's Sunday.
We had about 6 inches in last storm, cold weather is keeping snow around.

You folks probably get a lot more snow than we do, due to the lake effect from the Great Lakes. We actually get a lot less snow than people think. Funny, it seems like a lot of the snow we get at our place comes from somewhere else due to the wind! It blows a lot here in the winter. And it doesn’t get as cold as some think, either. I’d say that, other than the occasional cold snap, the average wintertime temperature here ranges between 15 and 35 degrees. Not too far north of here it does get cold. I can remember working a graveyard shift (I was with the Alaska State Troopers), there were times when it would be 10 or so below here in Wasilla, but 12 miles north of here at Big Lake, it would be -50˚! Now that’s cold.
