This is another treasure from Bill. I don't have a clue as to what it is other than a wonderful subject. Not only is Bill a knowledgeable collector, he must have great eyesight for this and some of the other are very, very small.
I'm hoping that Bill will jump in and tell us what this wondrous insect is and along with some interesting information about it.

Lovely on DL! Really a treat. I know what it is, but Bill (or someone else) can have a go.

Wow! Love this image -- like a gold and black dragon!
This is a Panorpa nuptialis. Google has an app called google lens. it is available for download and when you tale a pic of ab object. it will attempt to identify it. Pretty cool.
Thanks for the compliments. I've been using a stiff piece of 8-1/2 x 11 black felt with an adhesive backing that I bought from Hobby Lobby. It has a protective backing that can be removed if you want to stick it onto something. I use it for flocking the insides of my extension tubes and the back of adapters that may reflect internal light. I stand it up a about 6-inches past the subject which appears to produce a nice black background for me.
