Thank you. It was all set up and lighted. All I had to do was recognize it and shoot it.

A very good B&W still life. I opened up your picture in Photoshop and right away without any edits it looks even better.
I tried, out of curiosity, to add texture slider and clarity slider. It changes the picture so much that it starts to take on a different flavor, rough and much older. Yours or mine makes no difference both perfect in their own way.

Thank you. I went both ways with the clarity slider. Wound up staying with the middle. Can't say exactly why.

Took up the challenge - could not improve - yours is as good as it gets and it is good! IMHO.

South Union. Pleasant Hill is on the to do list. There is an amazing amount of "detail" type subjects. The place had a very gentle, calming feel.

Since you liked South Union, you'll absolutely LOVE Pleasant Hill!! Make a long weekend, stay in a restored building, enjoy a feast, too. I think I've been there 5 times over the ages.

you caught it all in your image, the well worn wood, the volume and serviceability of the ceramic pieces, the thickness of the structure walls, and the light . . . . wow. As they say, you must have a really good camera!

Thanks. It was all set up. The light was perfect. All I had to do was see it. Yes, the camera was everything.

Exquisite tones and light. I wonder why you included so much of the background if light was the object, especially since your depth of field choice seems to be the pottery and the light that falls on it.
