While photographing some small spiders in my basement on my carnivorous plants, I spotted a little ant on my plant table. Decided to shoot him too when what to my wondering eyes should appear but eight eyes staring back at me!! Her name is Carmen, and she is a Myrmarachne formicaria. I made a little house for her and bought her some fruit flies. Hand held Canon 100mm macro. Comments for improvement welcomed.

Well, I was gonna purchase some other jumping spiders in the spring when it warms up!!! Hopefully this gal will last a while. I have no idea how old she is.

Oh, this is very good! I know that these are at times very difficult subjects (ant mimics tend to behave like ants), and here are these terrific images! Well done!
