I still haven't heard from Earl but I was worried about his house.
You have most likely seen or heard about the massive bush fires burning in New South Wales & Queensland.
The township where Earl lives is right in the middle of it all, Maclean.
I Emailed the local council in the area and they told me that Maclean is safe just now but still quite a concern.
Earl's house is OK so if nothing bad happens, he'll have a house to go home to at least.
I'm still worried about him though, not hearing anything...we Emailed and or phoned each other quite often.
Let's hope we hear something positive soon.

Yeah, I thought about him when I heard about the fires. It certainly has been a long time since we've heard from him. Hope he's back soon.

The only way anyone is able to get in touch with Earl is through his friend, Dennis, and I've heard from Dennis only twice since he took Earl to the first hospital, Ron. I emailed Dennis 2 weeks ago, and I'm still waiting for his reply. If there had been an update, I would have immediately posted as I promised I would.

Yes, I know you said that but Earl and I Email or phone every few days and I think he would contact me if/when he was home...
Can you send me Dennis's Email address, I'll try and get some answers out of him..

Ron, I suspect you’re upset because Earl confided in me. Like I told you in response to your email, this is something you’ll have to take up with him. Since you two communicate frequently, surely you know that he is a very private person concerning his health. At the time he first told me about what was suspected, he had not even told his family. When he was first taken to the hospital, I thought, like he did, that it would be for about 3 days, but he sent word through Dennis to let me know that he would be there for about 2 months instead, and he also asked me to let his UHH friends know. It’s my opinion that he’s letting me know, because we moderate this section together, and his absence would be noticed by our closeup ‘family’. Knowing how he feels about his privacy and his dislike of using closeup to share one’s personal problems, I suggest you email me with issues you might have about how I’ve handled the situation. And no, I can’t share an email address without their permission.

I have not been here as long as most of you, but I came to respect and look forward to our fellow members posts. I suspect a few of us are not just young anymore, but that just makes friendship all the more dear. I am grateful for the care shown whenever someone is missing.
