There were a lot of mayors from towns being hit with blackouts, wanting to convert these energy companies into state institutions. This allegedly will put the all the maintenance under municipal control so they can do it cheaper and concurrent with other projects. And with the elimination of the administration and stockholders, electricity prices will fall dramatically.

And just for you white wing whackos- no I don't believe it either.
I am NOT an evil leftie dem Hillary sucker. Just repeating a relevant news story.

When can bloated govt bureaucracies do ANYTHING better than the private sector? Compare, for example, the Postal Service w/ UPS or FedEx? Or the notorious affirmative-action M. L. King hospital with ANY other hospital. (M L King Hospital is known locally as "K**ler King" because it is so bad.)

PG&E is a privately-controlled, public utility that is publicly traded. It has essentially run amok for decades taking taxpayer money. It filed bankruptcy last January.

This company is the perfect example of capitalism gone wild without consequence for decades.
