Baby Steatoda Triangulosa Spider

It's difficult to photograph teeny tiny spiders. Especially when you have to lay down flat on the concrete floor in the basement and you're body is screaming "what the hell are you trying to do?" And then there is the exaggerated motion when using a macro lens. And then the darn twin flash units getting in the way and the lack of light to try to focus (thank goodness for flashlights). Not that I'm complaining or anything -- I'm sure you can relate. Didn't want to move her for fear of losing her. Next time after shooting I will move the specimen for a more comfortable shooting experience. Here are the best results of my efforts. I believe this is a very young female Steatoda triangulosa spider (Triangulate Household Spider). The last photo is an unedited 1:1 shot.

Excellent series and I can relate to your description of what we go through to get a shot.

Very good! And yes, I think we can relate.
My favorite such memory is lying in warm, not-so-fragrant mud with my elbows slowly sinking into it. But it was worth it.

Thanks Mark! I always regret not wearing knock around clothes when I go out with my camera!
