Thanks to everyone who posted such great suggestions! I too am having health issues (Parkinsons) and am adjusting my photography to more suit my abilities. Bob, I get a great deal of help dealing with my issues from a mental health counselor. I'm not saying that this will help you but my mental health counselor insist that I keep up my photography and says it's a great way for me to stay positive. It has helped me get through some tough times.
God bless all who posted such great advice!

Bird feeders being mounted high off the ground is often done to discourage Squirrels from getting in on the action. Also, different breeds of birds have places - and heights - where they are most comfortable eating. Some will not eat from a low hanging spot. Some will eat off the ground. Perches v Platforms are also variables. All of these factors will determine which birds will take advantage of the hospitality being offerred.

Amazing what a squirrel will do to get to a bird feeder...
One day I noticed a few people on the street taking pictures of my bird feeder with their cell phones.
I looked over to the feeder and was surprised to see a deer eating from it ... LOL

This is a good suggestion, look up “Focus Stacking” ..... you’ll be amazed what can be achieved on your kitchen table.

Good suggestion. I played with Focus Stacking when I first got my camera. Photographing a vase of daffodils from my garden. Picolay is freeware software which I thought did a good job.
