Shooting the shadow side of the locomotive made things a bit more difficult but by shooting in RAW as I do, bringing up the shadows was not difficult in PP with Ps. So since my wife was using a faster auto focusing Pentax DA 18-55mm Zoom Lens and K-3 (24MP) Body she was able to capture more good exposures in AF.C mode. I think we both might have been less confused in AF.S mode and just keep hitting the shutter repeatedly about once every second. I've shots trains before with AF.S and was able to "manually" expose individual frames every few feet at 40 to 50 MPH. In that case panning could have helped. Sorry I am harping so much on my shooting difficulties but I am a bit upset with my self for partially messing up a one time shooting opportunity. And I really should know my equipment better than this. I usually do for the techniques I usually use. Following are a few experimental processing treatments that are really weird.
