photos from Columcille Megalith Park in Bangor, PA. I've lived in PA for more than 50 years, and this place is less than an hour's drive from my house. But I had never heard of it until a restaurant server in Annapolis mentioned it during a chat.
taken with my favorite combo: IR-converted XPro-1 and 16-55mm lens.

Pretty cool! Is there something mysterious about it? Or is it's origin well known? I like the photos.

B&W is always good, well almost always, in this case it is the perfect medium. Good shots.

Sorry, Curmudgeon, but B&W is SELDOM good. I wish I could see this in color so that I would know how they actually look!

I agree. But it's not B&W. It's IR.

Thanks for the comments. People claim to feel “sensations” here, and they conduct Druid-style ceremonies...one for Samhain coming up.
I chose the IR because I found the color images on their website unimpressive.

And here I keep going to Scotland to see standing stones when there are some a few hours away - neat!

Nice shots. Agree with you that these need black and white/IR. The IR gives a separation between the stones and the trees that would otherwise be impossible. Would be worth going back in the winter. Of the photos the fifth is the most perfectly composed and framed. Exactly what is beyond that portal? Perhaps Dorothy and Toto would know. "Gee Toto, we don't seem to be in Allentown no more!"

It’s a megalith park created by a Presbyterian minister who was inspired by the holy island of Iona. What is not shown are two chapels. Bill (the minister) worked on it for four decades. He died June 18, 2018. The park is adjacent to a national Presbyterian retreat center - Kirkridge.
