Hello all,

I am Dave. I live in California and I am nearing retirement. As I near retirement, I have decided to reignite my love for photography. I enjoy taking landscape and wild animal pictures. People? Not so much. I currently own a Nikon D70 but have decided to purchase a new camera to begin the new chapter of my life.

I consider myself an Intermediate enthusiast - but rusty. I have been looking at cameras for a couple of weeks. I am hoping to choose within the next month. Since I own Nikon equipment, I am staying in that line. I have looked at the Nikon Z6, D750, and D7500. Trying to decide which is best for me. This will probably be the last camera I purchase. Any suggestions on this would be very welcome.

If the Z6 had a pop-up flash, I would probably splurge and get that camera since it promises the greater growth, but I really don't want to be carting around a lot of equipment since I will be using the camera a lot when I travel.

I love the challenge section of this site. Wonderful idea! I am excited to participate in that.

Looking forward to getting to know many of you!

Welcome to the forum.

(I like landscapes sans people also... But sometimes they come in handy for perspective.)

Add the D500 to your list. If you have several lenses for your D70 and don't plan on replacing them, the D500 is the best of the crop body cameras. If you only have the kit lens and a mediocre telephoto, consider replacing the whole setup with a full frame. The D750 is a bit dated, but many applaud it for "old school" feel and it will certainly meet your needs for a long time. The Z6 is an outstanding camera and with adapters can use almost any lens effectively. A good friend shoots the Z6 with older Nikon and Exacta lenses and gets incredible results. While the Z lenses are limited and expensive, it is definitely "future proof" if it is in fact your "last camera." By the way - last cameras usually aren't.

Welcome. The D750 is still a great camera but of course, is full-frame and requires the appropriate lenses. I own one and really like it. I also have a D7200 and use it for wildlife and macro. It is a wonderful all-around camera. Have fun.
