Thanks Pixelstan. The 750 mm angle of view equivalent telephoto shows out of focus tree leaves and apples across the entire frame No trunk, no sky. no sides Just leaves and apples. Sony HX80 pocket camera - no manual focus available . Had a difficult time getting it to focus on the rain drops and water streams running down the window.
Nothing for me, Sorry.🥺
Nope. Does make me think "wet."
3.5 out of 4 are unmoved. Ah well! One can always hope their work will "work" Not this time though.
Great idea and very nicely done. Beautiful on download view. Thanks for sharing it.
I think if more of the apple tree showed to be recognizable as at least a tree it would move me.

Hard to define this as an abstract, or even impressionistic, because the apple tree is not inferred in some way. It is a good colored background shot.
An apple in the foreground, maybe?
Does nothing for me. Might make a nice background for something.

Maybe as a background for a poster or something, but as a stand-alone it says nothing to me.

I like the idea of shooting through rain streaked glass. Did you try it with a single tree including the trunk and branches? Bev

Yes (Kind of) I got another shot a little later that shows the tree trunk enough to hint that it is indeed a tree trunk. I was more after the abstract than representational so I didn't try to get the entire tree.

Actually I like them both, and you're right, the first one is more abstract. I'll have to remember to work with a rained streaked window again with the wet season heading our way. Hope to see more of yours. Bev

I agree. IMO the best abstract or impressionistic images are suggestive of something or evocative in some way or another. If they aren't, they can just come over as being too obscure or unrecognisable and nothing more than just interesting patterns (hence the suggestions that it would make a good background).
IMO the best abstract or impressionistic images are suggestive of the essence of what's being portrayed, so I don't see them as being the opposite of representational. Instead of trying to portray the external reality the artist/photographer tries to portray something of the inner essence (i.e. the inner reality) of the subject. Just going for any obscure or distorted portrayal of the external reality is usually not enough to achieve that objective.
I would apply the same criticism to the attempt to use the rain-soaked window. Seeing a scene through a window like that can be evocative of a certain mood, but that can be lost if the viewer doesn't relate to anything they're seeing through the window. Seeing a rain-soaked street, for example, through a window like that can give the viewer that "glad to be inside" feeling, but an unidentifiable scene isn't likely to do that.
