Here are a few of the pictures I took from inside and outside on the Big Boy trip from Barstow to Colton on 10/13/19. Pictures from inside are distorted due to the windows I was shooting thru and some haze at Barstow in the early morning.

#1 Engine as it was coming into Barstow
#2 Rear of train as it was backing into platform area at Barstow
#3 Engine at Barstow Platform (lots of people trying to get a close look)
#4 Inside of "Columbine" dome car, lower level, very comfortable
#5 Looking up into dome
#6 View from inside dome looking forward
#7 Looking forward out a side window at front of train (on a curve)

Are you aware that your last picture (#7) was taken as you rounded Sullivan's Curve? The double tracks below are owned by BNSF while the 4014 is on the UP track. Sullivan's Curve is the most famous spot in the Cajon Pass for railfans.

Know the tracks well frequently go up Cajon pass to Sister-in-laws. You get a sense of how long the train was from the fact that I was in the 7th car from the back. PS as a youngster I "explored" 4014 when It was at the Pomona Fairgrounds as well and my sons did too. What a pleasure to see it restored. THANK YOU U.P.

It was 22 cars long not counting 4014, the two desels, oil and water tenders, the generator and support car and two baggage cars used as buffers at the head end.
