Can LED tracing light boxes be used for flat frames?

I have become aware of large, inexpensive tracing light boxes that offer a very even (so they say) surface to be used for tracing. But perhaps these can be used for flat frames too?

They also offer the ability to be powered via a USB cable which is very convenient.

I do believe so, Jim.
They can give you a very neutral illuminated frame.
If I remember correctly, I think a T-shirt (white) over the end of the Telescope or Lens, with a steady light source.

I never could manage stacking, but I tapped every trick in the book trying.
Then the magic of Atik shot me out of a cannon.... Wow!
Everything was there, just needed the right camera.

I’ve heard yes as well. They aren’t so cheap tho, at least when I had looked at them. Of course I wanted at least 12x12.

Here is a 12" x 17" A3 sized lightbox. $99.96 is near the high end of what I have been seeing. Certainly large enough for my 9.25" SCT scope.

And here is even a larger one for about half the money:

I ended up with a spike-a panel. It’s amazing, I use to do t-shirt flats, what a pain that was. Getting a panel was one of the best things I did. So easy to take. I need to get around to hanging it tho. They don’t provide a way to do that. Right now I just point the scope up and set it on top.

I don’t think the 2nd one is dimmable, you definitely want that feature.

(Probably why it's about 1/2. Because it is half-fast.)

Repeat the last sentence 10 times....

ADJUSTABLE LIGHT - Bright and flicker-free, Craftymint’s tracer lightbox has three different light settings to choose from. Whether you’re sketching or crafting during the day or night, you can easily adjust the brightness to suit your preference.

I agree with yall , I've been using a usbTracer led 9x12" flat panel with insanely bright to barely illuminated dim for my homemade light box , I still use a white t-shirt to get it just right due to my laptop screen and shoot 13 inches away in my cardboard light box that fits over the tube . They come out fine once I got the distance back far enough. Trial and error in everything I do in this adventure. $20 bucks when I got it 2 yrs ago.
