I used to be a Crime Scene Photographer for several police departments, and Sheriff’s Offices. Then for years, I shot for the USAF. From grip and grins to crashes. Now I shoot what I want to. I shoot Leicas from the M6 film, to a M Digital. My wife bought a building that was moved next to my home, so now I have a full lab to play with. I was lucky. I have a color Leica V-35 enlarger. Unfortunately, I have developed an allergy to photo chemistry.

Plus, the portable darkroom is much easier to use on the move.

Can you tell which chemical(s) you are allergic to? Is there an alternative, and do you have good fresh air ventilation and exhaust in the darkroom?

One of the ingredients that tend to cause allergic reactions is hydroquinone. Kodak makes XTOL Film Developer that is ascorbic acid based. B&H sells a package for $10.00 that makes 5 liters. You might give it a try and see if that solves your allergy problem. Otherwise see if you can snag a copy of the Morgan & Morgan Photolab Index on ebay. It was famous for offering tons of developer formulas. Mixing your own is always fun.

Same here, taught lab tech for years in high school as a teacher. But you're going to love not having to deal with limited images on countless rolls of film. Took me a while to get over this myself. With digital, your world will open even wider and yet in the back of your mind you'll have this though, when will I need to change that roll of film. it will take some time to get use to.

Well, Digital Photography will not have any affect as far as Allergy's are concerned. Have you any experience with "Digital Photography" as yet? It is fun.
