I enjoy this site. I am a pro-sumer/photo enthusiast, using Nikon D80, D300, and TX5, as well as a Sony A55 (my favorite).

can you tell me why you own 2 different systems nikon and sony. since their lenses and accesories are not compatible you have to buy 2 of everything.
Long story... I have owned numerous digital cameras, starting with the Sony Mavica. I was happy with the Nikon D300 (with 70-200 f/2.8, 50 mm, f/1.4, etc.) but under poor light my wife consistently bettered my shots with her smaller, lighter Sony HX1. Plus, I envied the Sony sweep panarama, and built-in HDR. Then she upgraded to the HX 100. After considerable research, I liked what I learned about the "camera of the year" and purchased the A 55 with 18-250 mm lens. Additionally, I already had several Minolta lenses.
We did a just-for-fun photo shoot at an indoor beach music festival. I used the unobtrusive A 55, loved the high ISO and was impressed with the results.
