Is it possible to recover images on a reformated card? I have not overwritten them.

Yes, there are services that can do it as well as software you can do it yourself with... Google "recover sd card deleted files"

Haven't tried that myself with SD so hopefully other hoggers can point you to the best one.
PC or Mac? (if you want to do it yourself)

I've used "Recoverit" with some success...

Bret, I'm not sure if it makes a difference. These weren't just deleted but the card was reformatted.
Andy I just tried Recuva with no luck. When I can I try Recoverit. Thanks

Depends on how you formatted it. A “quick” format - maybe, a low level format - not likely.

Reformatted in camera. Robert I'll look into those you suggested.

I have intentionally, to test, formatted an SD card in the camera. https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download I recovered the entire set of test photos I took for that experiment.

If you low-level formated it, they are gone.

Did the same thing this past weekend on a new SanDisk ExtremePro. Had the two year free offer for their RecoveryPro. Registered, downloaded and all shots were recovered.

Image recovery depends upon the reformat mode: hard with 0,1s written or soft with only the directory erased. I used to have an app called Can Opener the opened anything and displayed contents without interpretation.

Sandisk memory cards have come with a recovery program in the past. I'm not sure if they still do it. It is an excellent recovery program.

Have used Recuva a lot with success. Friends think I am a magician and the download is free. And yes, I have carelessly formatted the wrong card a couple of times over the years. Ccleaner from the same source is also very useful to clean out leftover and unwanted "stuff" that slows your computer.

I don't know if you know this or not, but when you try the recovery software, it will take hours to recover. So when you try the recovery software, just get it going and walk away. I reformatted a Lexar CF card accidently and Lexar comes with a recovery software that works. But when I did it, the software took hours, and it renamed all the recovered files to something else. But at least I got them back.

Yes, the last time I did a recover it took a long time, renamed them and recovered images from years ago, not just the recent ones I was trying to get back.
I seldom fill a card up and usually import then format each day I am shooting. But that one had been filled at least once back when I first got my 7DII and filled a card with shots of two Muscovy ducks fighting using high speed burst and another two hours at the park doing other water birds, plants etc. The card was over 95% full that day. I got some of those images in the recovery.
