I found this small multi-colored Stink Bug today while scouting in the field and brought it back for a staged focus stacking session. I've found several variety of Stink Bugs and this was the first of its kind for me.
This session was taken with the two lenses that I use attached in series to each other and extension tubes. The subject was placed inside a ping-pong ball that I use to diffuse the illumination and I placed four light heads around the surface of the ball to make it glow softly inside. A piece of pastel colored paper was placed inside the ping-pong ball behind the subject to create the background color.
Thanks in advance to all those who view and for your comments, suggestions, questions and critique.
Nice stack, yes they do seem to have a variety of colourations.
Brenda, this one has a pattern around its edges and on its back although this view does not show it. Also, this one is smooth compared to most of the bumpy ones that I find.
I think that it is too cute to be a local resident....must of come up from Texas where all the cool bugs are!
