Do you honestly think a law like that would prevent some whack job from taking either one into a mall and blasting away? Note, it's the whack jobs that are the problem.

Boggles the mind how some feeble brains think. Like a law like that would stop anybody or for that matter any laws stopping someone who is obsessed and has the intent on doing evil. Why is it so hard to understand you can't legislate evil. If people who keep insisting more laws would put their efforts and energy into figuring out how to identify these people before they do something evil we might have something that would actually help curb violence.

It's all so simple. The weapons are made illegal and you are asked to turn them in. If you dont you will have contraband in your home and if its discovered you'll be arrested.

We have AR15 and AK47 owners here in Canada. It's the same as the law for pistols, to and from the shooting range only. So far most of our wack jobs don't have any of these guns. Unlike the US we have to go through a lot more paperwork and waiting time to get these guns. We were brought up not to be scared and don't need that kind of fire power next to me in bed. I know some of you sleep with your guns.

Ok, tell me one gun law that if enacted other than confiscation that would have an impact on the bad guys that now currently own guns and that they would abide by? Personally I don't think there is one.
