A new to me Caterpillar that I need an ID on. I found it walking across the road today while out walking my dog here in North Georgia...It's on a Pine needle for a size indicator...

It's been tentatively ID'd as belonging to the Genus Dasylophia. It sure is colorful compared to the drab moth it becomes...
Further ID lists it as a Black-spotted prominent - Dasylophia anguina

I was going to look in the 'prominent moths' for this one. Many in this group have anal prolegs that project rearward. Quite a defense display!
