Interesting shot, I was wondering what the white sections around the edge were. I thought at first that it may be parasites but I can see from lots of other photos on the Web that it isn't.

They look like little hairs. I never noticed them until I took this shot!

Yes you are right about the hairs. I read this on the Web - "a row of white tufts (spots) of hair project from under the wing covers on each side of the body." Perhaps it is for protection from weather or dust maybe.

Very nice. We have horads of them on our vines and they eat the leaves in a way that only the veins are left. The result are leaves that resemble fine lace fabric.

This is a very good picture. These insects are difficult to not blow out the highlights, and here that is handled very nicely. 👍!
