According to some pros, the 5-year old A6000 is still great camera and now by far the best value in the line up.

You are right. As an amateur this camera is the BEST bang for your money. The last software upgrade really made a big difference. I will used it to improve my skills before making the jump to full frame.

Let's not forget that many pros took to the A6000 when it first came out, because of it's then state-of-the-art auto-focus and frame rate in such a small package.

Every once in a while, a camera comes out in the market that's ahead of it's time. The A6000 performs just as good as Sony's A7R11 at one sixth the price, the only difference is, the Ar711 has a few more soft ware features and a few more buttons and dials. This five year old camera is a steal at today's price.

The only reason I traded my a6000 for the a6300 was the plastic body versus the magnesium alloy body. Got a little extra weight but the sturdiness was worth it.

I've often wondered what real advantage a metal body has for most photographers in the practical world, since it almost always adds some weight. After all it's not like we expect to be using the body for 20 years! In today's world the electronics will wear out (or become hopelessly obsolete) long before the plastic gives way.
