Fine idea, contrasting the "eternal' and the moment, the elevated and the mundane, classical and colorful. It would be a better photo I think if you straightened it (eye level should be a straight course of blocks on the far wall), then did some more processing to bring out the idea, perhaps sharpening the bucket, doing an "auto" exposure, and "fiddling around" to richen and bring out things as you feel like.

Here ya go. I took artBob's advice and added a little sharpening to the bucket and it produced a much better image. As for his suggestion about the horizontal lies on the back wall--still pondering. My intent was for there to be no details visible at all on the back wall, so I am still thinking through this. Thanks again to artBob for his thoughtful critique.

I think you have made an interesting photograph into a very good photo. The back wall could certainly be too dark to see the blocks, as you intended. That would help draw attention to the bucket.

I like that you saw potential in this, and made it into an image. You've clearly defined your subject with the monochromatic feel and the center of interest bright yellow. I also like the triangle the bucket makes when the handle leads diagonally up to the pillar, then down the pillar to the shadow on the floor leading to the bucket. Keeps the eye moving around. Nice composition. Bev
