Started playing in Photoshop yesterday. When I finished I kind of liked it so I thought I'd see what other people think. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

I really like the stacking of the flowers. You are really exercising your creativity. My only issue and it's just personal preference is the layer of flower between the white and orange/red. I think the color is cooler in temperature than the rest of the colors and I might warm it up a bit. I love the center of the flowes.

Thanks for the comments Keni. I see what you mean about the red/orange flowers, I'll try again.

Or you could try just backing off with the red, orange and yellow a bit. They're very vivid colours even before you ramp them up.

What I see is the the composition is f fine symmetrical/radial one, the colors are very strong, except for the subtleties in the white flower (which I like very much), the focus is fine, and there is significant noise in the white flower. As far as looking, it's okay. For being considered a strong photograph, however, I can find no strong statement/contrent.

Great idea to explore and ask. I expect the most I'm;ortant crits will pop out at you.

This is interesting. I'm still trying to decide if I like the combination of cool colours with really hot colours. On first glance, it's quite striking. On second, I wonder how it would look if the hot colours were cooled down a bit. (I see the yellows in the center as cooler yellows, so they aren't part of the "what if.")

One is not better than the other, so I understand your quandary. It really boils down to, "Do I want a POW! or a quiet beauty?"

The photographer will choose one. You can clearly see from the comments here why the words of someone commenting on your work are useless unless that person explains where they are coming from.

So often in critiques I would hear someone with a personal but narrow view crit a work in a way that had nothing to do with the intent of the maker.

Thanks again Bob. I seldom know where I'm coming from with these kinds of images. I just open a photo and start adding and subtracting until I find something I like or get bored and give up. I seldom come back to an image I can't complete in one sitting.

I post here when I think I may have come up with an image that other people may like. The comments, positive or negative, are important to me and my continued growth in both the artistic and technical aspects of photography and PP.
