Getting a jump on tomorrow!

A rather intriguing bit of information has come to roost and I for one feel vindicated, but also sad for my less than kind responses to some on here. I did not know that they had a genic deficiency. Mother nature can be so cruel

Apparently this has come to light:

"Preliminary research--waiting for peer replication--shows that there is actually a gene that shows activation by perceptions of beauty to produce serotonins (pleasure hormones). Those with a slightly different DNA do not have that particular pathway to serotonin production. So beauty IS in the mind of the beholder or more precisely in his/her genes".

Apparently, them guys from Sir Kenneth Clark to Aristotle had it wrong! Beauty, at least it perception, is genetic. This explains a lot for my 'conditions', and I was worried that I was laboring under the burden of Male Hysteria! I can now hold my head up, I am not genially inferior! But I promise to not point fingers, nor scoff at those who lack the genic 'right stuff' to see the grand pageant of the world of beauty and earthly delights. I will solider on spreading the pleasures of both beauty and charm!

I'm extremely curious about the black thing (between upper thighs) in image 5. Is it a bear trap?

You sillies!
Wrong!
The image is from the promotional images for Jenny KNOX's Construction Workers Work Shop, she made close to $1,000, she was a vary happy model! That is a Milwaukee Industrial "Super Saws All"*, Variable speed unit. It was but $36 dollars from a pawn shop in like new condition. KNOX loved this power house tool.

During photography sessions, I usually leave the photographers and model(s) to do their work without my hovering around. I was in the main studio building and I got that weird feeling that something was wrong, I let it pass. Then it returned even stronger. So I went outside to where the session was in progress. I looked, paused, then screamed at the top of my voice "STOP!!!". Everyone turned and KNOX stopped.

KNOX was up on the roof area doing the demolition. I then pointed out to Ms. KNOX that the 2X4 holding the roof area she was cutting through was all that was holding her up, and once cut she would fall some 12 feet into a pile of demolition scraps!

All them boys rushed to grab her (I was thinking of grabbing her, but then I grabbed the ladder up against the wall, pushed my way through the dozen of camera holding men and suggested that she descend the ladder a bit from the top and complete her cut.

Naturally, being a vary naughty boy, and knowing just how naughty KNOX is, I posed her on the ladder high up, turned to the men and suggested that perhaps they all slow down a bit because we were doing photographs and not really doing demolition REMEMBER!

The whole time KNOX was up the top of the ladder twisted in a half turned pose, smiling down at a dozen admiring men some were even taking a quick snap of her with me holding her, leaning against her. I am so tall and large I covered her lower half, so they could not see that I has the real naughty one, playing with her signature modeling artifact a medium size black plug!

Yes, saved from a fall, and with her Milwaukee Saws All in her one hand, bracing herself on the ladder smiling away while I directed the boys to get some low angle shots of the hammer pressing into her round tushie as she balanced on the ladder offering quite a lovely lush view that boys just delight in making.

So, yes, always keep in mind safety but always stay focused on the goals, the model is there to model and the boys are there to make all types of images. Take your time, think about what you can do to make some super fine images, but remember you are there to create some grand images and never ever forget to have loads of fun. The woman are there to model, have fun, and have a memorable experience (most are not in it for the money, at least till it's over!).

First image is KNOX with the saws all, scaffold in place, but at the base. I suggested that the photographers take advantage and do some aerial views of KNOX cutting with this powerful tool. Oh, as part of the shoot I used Pam Olive Oil cooking spray on KNOX and took some fine saw dust from the table saw to lightly dust her body as a sweating work girl! Details, it's all in the details.

Then KNOX is screwing around with the hole shooter (yes, hole shooter, that is what it is called; a drill is what sits on a bench, in generally a vertical position, with a bed below to hold the stock when making holes in the stock), removing a screw (or rightly called a fastener).

Last is the image that I settled on for the main promotional image for that workshop. I guess the photographer liked it, KNOX asked if the claw hammer could be seen biting into her tushie! Yes, we added the T-Back to sort of cover the obvious 'other tool' not in her belt!

And that my friends is a basic set of guide lines to making erotic images during the basic confines of a great theme/idea!

*Registered Trade Mark name for Milwaukee's reciprocating saw.

Safety note: If you are working with a model with nipple piercings, fish net hose can become quite troublesome when the model is kneeling down, close with breasts near the fish nets; the fish nets get caught easily in the posts and it is quite painful for your model!

I am reposting images because this is a discussion Form, you might want to think before you post to the Form, it is BOTH a visual Forum but it's great strength is in the dialogue between members. I would think this is a pretty basic concept.

Also, not everyone wants links while they read, it is distracting, and there are some of us who enjoy the visual with the narration (story) about the images.

While we are at it, I can post the basic technical details of a shoot, but I prefer to stick to those details where they lend themselves to the existing images. This idiocy of tell a poster that they need to move right or change focal length only reveals how little such comments can add to a discussion of an image. Think about the reality that this is a photograph, it is none other, these only reveal that the comment is from someone who does not have a grasp of the photographic process, or even reality.

So, just to add clarity, I do not do porn/pornography that is a business that I am not in. The other mindless comment that is tossed my way is the reference to 'snap shot'. I know vary well what a snap shot is, I was in a major exebition for the snap shot form of photography, and it even toured Europe. So this calling my work snap shot just displays ones ignorance of photography. In a critique one can express that a certain image has a snap shot QUALITY, that is fine, even stating it as a positive or negative assertion. But statements that pass judgment on a work simply shows one's general lack of civility and an ignorance of proper criticism technique.

Sorry for the need to rant but some of the individuals who troll here on the Forum do begin to become tedious.

I didn't see any mention of any of these being referred to as "snapshots"... Maybe that was from another thread or the person edited it before it was too late to be permanent.

PS - I liked the construction pics. Very cool.

Tim;
if there are any re-posts I either missed the first ones or went brain dead sometime after. So as for me, I appreciate your work, your narratives and descriptions with the photo work. It never hurts to re-post lovely models, we need more beauty in this world.
Thank you for sharing your work,
bruce

Tim, I guess I was not clearly expressing my puzzlement over your 'theme' of 'One A Day.' That topic title implied to me that each day you would post 1 photo that you took that day (or the day before to give you time to process, sort and select that 1 outstanding image). Another interpretation is that you would post 1 new image to the forum each day, without any constraint of when the image was taken; but only 1 image in the post.

So what puzzled me is that you have reposted images that you have shown us before; and you rarely post only 1 image.

So those of who generally don’t like your cluttered, haphazard style are genetically deficient? (Reply if you wish but I’m not following the thread. Not worth it; sorry.)

Those were done prior to the workshop, n fact the idea for the workshop came because of the conversation I was having with three friends of mine. They had come over to help with the demolition of the area of my studio building and the general upgrade of that space. At the time Jenny KNOX was living in the upstairs apartment. We had a late start, didn't want to disturb the KNOX who was apparently getting her beauty rest. But that needed to change as it was late Spring and it was getting hot enough that we would need to stop by noon, just to hot. That day it got to 101F!

Well, about an hour in KNOX came to the end of the landing and mock yelled at us, "What's all the noise! A girl needs her beauty sleep!" Followed by big smiles. Then KNOX came down from the apartment and all work ceased. The boys had all brought their cameras, not being idiots they knew the KNOX would be there and where the KNOX prowled there were photos to be had!

So Jim, gave her his tool belt and sent her up the ladder to pose. After all, she had dressed up for the occasion. The boys were snapping away, sort of a silly fashion shoot. I had Dan (in the photo with KNOX) actually get up on another ladder and pull down some of the siding that we were replacing with Hardy Board.

As I watched it came to me that KNOX as a construction girl would make a great workshop! So I sent KNOX back up to her apartment and told the guys to get the steel corrugated steel off the building (hell I needed to get something done that day!). Then I went up to KNOX in her apartment. she was looking dejected and before she could say a word I launched into the idea of doing a work shop/Meet Up session, but not a fashion shoot but her as a nude construction worker! KNOX was down and I told her to dress for HOT and naughty, use Jimmy's belt to start and build from there. I told her I would be back to get her in 30 minutes and that the boys would do a trial run to see how it would go.

I went down to the three surly boys and promised that we would knock off soon and as a reward I would take everyone up the street for Tex-Mex food. That is how it went pulling off the old steel covers and I was just about to go retrieve KNOX when at the corner of the landing, there stood KNOX minus most of her clothes but wearing Jim's tool belt. I looked at the boys and explained the plan. Another construction delay! But they were a good crew so they took it in stride and got out their cameras to 'document' the work we had done and for scale we asked Ms. KNOX to pose on the site for scale reference! LOL!!!

So the boys got a photo session, KNOX got another paid shoot and we all went up the street after a while to have lunch.

KNOX arives to work that first day of demolition.

Obviously math is not a strong suit of mine. But I have stated over and over that I am dyslexic, so math and language are obviously not my strong suites. Bur prattle on I shall, as I regard my gift as a pretty good narrator/story teller. I comes from years of public speaking (public speaking is way one does when standing in front of half a dozen people in a class room or hundreds of people introducing Arnold Newman to the audience who came to his public lecture in the Chapel of the Southwest Craft Center). Those of us who speak to groups on a regular bases develop styles, it's just they way we roll!
