Spent a week on an RV trip to Wisconsin in the Spring Green area and between other ventures I was able to walk around with my mirrorless camera with extension tubes looking for willing critters, wildflowers and nature's beauty such as the backlight silhouettes of the two Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs.
This is the 'critter' series and I'll post the wildflowers later. Although it was an enjoyable trip and a great time with another RV couple, I longed for my being back in my basement shooting macro/micro sessions and of course I missed viewing the posts of the UHH True Macro community.
Thanks in advance for viewing and for your comments, suggestions, questions and critique.
welcome back and good shooting
Very good. That is Horseweed (Conyza canadensis) there with the cylindrical flower heads and tiny blossoms.

Welcome back, Gary. Nice set. Looks like you had a fun trip.
Good stuff! I am back at teaching and I dearly miss doing this. But there are some weekends left of the season.
Super set Gary. Wonderful lighting and detail.

Really cool stuff. Do you photoshop them or are they all natural?
Nick, the shots that I take in the field are all right off the camera except for sizing to fit web posting. I do a bit of cleanup on my studio shots where I have to clone out the pin holding the insect and the "worm tracks" that focus stacking leaves in some places on the final image. Those too get resized so that they can be posted on the web.
These "Catch of the Day" shots are taken with a standard 50mm camera lens and a $30 set of auto-focus capable extension tubes. This produces a full 1:1 ratio macro image (the size of the subject is the size that it is on the camera's sensor). My studio work (basement bedroom) ranges for 2X up to 10X+ magnification ranges.
