Thanks for all the votes in our last contest.
I didn't have a good picture to work on but I saw one posted by MattPhox that could be challenging. I contacted him and he said he would be interested in seeing what we could do with his picture. I want to thank Mathias again for donating his picture.👏

Hi Jim-Pops Let me be first off the line with my submission. RBorud
My slant on a excellent subject.
Great image to work with. Thanks!
I like the composition of this image. IMHO it only needed a little light.

Mostly I just worked with what was in the file though a bit of toning was added. I had thought about cropping but the more I studied the image the more I appreciated the original framing. (Oh, the bridge was leveled)
This is mine. I loved the dappled light and the fact that the shadows were so deep. I didn't like the line of wall at the bottom, so I had the heal tool get rid of it in PS. Not a perfect job, but it looked better. I still don't like the sky, but I don't know how to make it better.
I like the feel of this image, a hidden away little waterwheel. Just lightened, removed the strong green color cast and subdued the mottled light. I didn't feel the overexposed sky nor the fence rail along the bottom added to the composition so I cropped slightly. I originally thought this was a ruin but it appears to be a rebuild, although unfinished.
Here is my rendition of this lovely scene....
Made some changes in color temperature, lightened shadows, toned down greens, replaced sky, cropped, sharpened, and added a little red haired friend who's eagerly waiting for you to visit.
Details look best in download view.
Well I guess better late than never.
