Grand Canyon.
Nikon D750 w/28-300mm
Great title...
Can use a bit of processing especially the highlights...

A great concept, but a bit hot in the highlights.

That’s what I get for taking the quick and easy way to edit. Although far from perfect, I think this is better
love the composition.... and breathtaking vista... you have an excellent eye for aesthetics...
As others have mentioned, you're maxing out the dynamic range of your Nikon D750 here...
Albeit you've done very well with your settings...
What might be done to improve?
For 230mm at 1/100 sec you may be at the limits for VR on this 28-300mm lens...
Ok, I have this lens and will only shoot it at f/8 where acuity and contrast are optimum.
You've used f/16 and diffraction is not your friend here... at that aperture you'll begin to see a hit on contrast and acuity (from experience with that lens).
What could be done to recover max data? HDR software and three exposures of the .NEF file for this image (over, normal and under)... it can recover significant data... best HDR Software? Photomatix
Hope this helps...
Thanks for sharing mcmama... looks like an epic locale... Rocky Mountains?
