The thing is, there are different degrees of "rumor" - you have to figure out which ones are more reliable. I'm glad I mentioned the D6 to the OP. It would have been a shame for him to purchase a new D5 right now with the D6 around the corner.
I for one am certainly glad you did mention it, sure got my attention simply due to the fact that I have been seriously considering the purchase of a D5.

Interesting because the D6 is still in development. No models available. Will be just more speculation.

Apparently they are following the model that worked so well for the D850 - announce the actual announcement .... that way they get 'announcement bounce' twice.

By the way.....This is the exact same way that Nikon has announced every new camera and lens in forever. Those of us who have been around Nikon long enough know Nikon brings something(s) important out just before every new Olympics. Nikon continues to be on point. Best of luck.
