This is a Very Good Site - Technically

I've been on this forum for quite a while, and I'm impressed by how well it works. Basically, I have no complaints. Other forums I visit don't work as well.

Some have time limits between posts, but their program doesn't count very well. Thirty seconds can turn into an hour or more.
We don't have a minimum character limit. I don't have to type ten characters before pressing Enter.
I can post links without being warned that "This might be spam."
This site keeps running 24/7 without "technical problems."
It's easy to enter "smilies," and we have a good selection.

I could probably think of more examples, but you get the idea. UHH works as it should, and I'm sure we all appreciate that.

One issue might surprise my friends here. A while ago I for some reason read about who owned
and operated this site. It is owned by foreigners (Russian I believe) and they are offshore.
I just left FL to return to home in PA outside Phila. But in FL office listed for "Ugly" is in
a strange location in North Miami. While this shouldn't bother us I believe that some posters
here might be trouble makers working the net. Now before you go whoa. Check this out.

I think that technically this site is very effective and efficient. As well, most people really seem to care about the site and what it provides. I think the average user sincerely is in it to help, share and learn. We seem to have a lot of knowledge and experience at our fingertips. I think we are lucky to have this rich resource.

This is the first & only forum I have ever belonged to or participated in so I was lucky I guess. It truly is worth it's weight in gold and I am so thankful for it.

Thanks Jerry

My only negative is the rude, snarky comments which do not add anything positive to the otherwise helpful information presented. I wish everyone would follow the advice of Thumper's parents. "If can't say something nice......"

I agree. A nice forum indeed. As far as snarky people, you can't always avoid them.

Snarky is a great word and concept and I support the fact that there are those participants who are โ€œsnarky.โ€ However, it seems whenever someone acts in such a manner the next bunch of responses seem to be even greater than is usual. This would seem to be a great way many readers have found to show what most participants are really made of!

I have tried other forums as well. This one is the easiest to use. There are many specialized sections, so almost any topic is very helpful. Posting photos is a snap. I have been using cameras for many years, and have learned many helpful things about photography here. Kudos to UHH
