Great looking 1951 Ford. Those Ford Models had the durable Flathead V8 engines. They became obsolete about a two or three years later. I remember seeing those cars as a young kid. Along with early model 1950s Chevrolets. Those cars only had straight 6 cylinder engines. Ford had the bragging rights then. My father owned a 1953 Chevrolet Bel-Air.

The flat head V8 was replaced by the overhead cam V8 in 1954. Iwish that I still had my1954 Mercury.

In those early years 1951-1956, Ford had the edge with styling over any other car especially with the 1956 Crown Victoria, those cars looked more modern, even though I was a Chevy person back in the day.
