The Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker is a military aerial refueling aircraft. Both the KC-135 and the Boeing 707 airliner were developed from the Boeing 367-80 prototype.

The Chicago Police Department’s helicopter operations consists of two Bell 206 helicopters.

The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor was introduced in 2005 and 195 have been built at a unit-cost of $150 million per plane.

The Tall Ship Windy, sailing from Navy Pier in Chicago, is a 148-foot, traditional four-masted gaff topsail schooner. She was awarded the status of official flagship of the City of Chicago, by Mayor Richard M. Daley in 2006.

Digital images shared in this post were captured in RAW using an EOS 5DIII, EF 500mm f/4L IS II and EF Extenders 1.4x and 2x for a 700mm and 1000mm extended configurations. Processing was performed in Lightroom and noise processing in Topaz DeNoise6.

Big Red started life as a World War II trainer for naval aviators in 1940. Boeing built more than 10,000 of the Stearman Model 75. After WWII the surplus aircraft became popular as crop dusters, sports planes, and for aerobatic and wing walking use in air shows.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University was founded just 22 years after the Wright brothers' first flight. The university offers 60 degree programs associated with aerospace.

Blue Angels planes can travel at supersonic speeds up to 1,400 miles per hour. To avoid shattering windows (and eardrums), pilots fly around 700 mph during exhibitions.

Thanks for posting your aircraft pictures. You have a talent for photographing airborne aircraft.

And thanks for posting instruction for displaying photographs in a larger format. I will give it a try again.

Thank you Frank, Bill, Mark, water falls, anotherview, Erik, Ken, Tom! I decided to keep to the 2x on the 500L for the Sunday show. Wider work will have to wait until the film camera I used for group shots is processed. Glad you enjoyed.
