I haven't used my Lensbaby much. Part of the reason is it is totally manual and most of the features on the camera don't work with it, like aperture priority or shutter speed or such. Several years ago I bought a Polaris Light Meter didn't use it but a couple of times then stashed it someplace. It took me two hours to find it. It was in plain sight but not in the case I remembered it to be in.
Back to the main reason for this post. If you are like me we can shoot manual but have to guess at the proper settings, many times taking 5 or 6 shots to get it right. If you have a light meter you can dial up how you want to shoot something, like aperture or speed and will tell you the ISO setting to get you there. Makes shooting with the Lensbaby so much easer. I was interested in the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 but hesitant because of the manual side of it. Now with using the light meter again I'm going for it. Not sure what I paid for it but now see them on ebay used $85-$110
This shot is with a Lensbaby Velvet 85 mm using the light meter, one shot one setting no editing except for a crop. Much easier than what I was trying to do this past Friday morning.
Great results with your light meter and Lensbaby combination, Jim! Lovely image! Not sure what you mean about not being able to use aperture priority with your LB, Jim. I usually have my camera set on AV mode when I'm using a Lensbaby.

On my Nikon D850 it immediately assumes the aperture is f/1.8. Never changes no matter what I set the lens ring to.
Waite I am getting my camera.....
That's interesting, I have been relying on the "Information Window" on the top of the camera. If I set the camera in aperture priority I have no choice it stays at f/1.8 and can't change that.
But🤔
As I just tested inside and out, while I keep it in A priority mode other setting are changing to properly expose the shot as I change the Lensbaby's aperture ring to different settings. Wow I've had this lens over a year and never picked up on that. Forget the light meter this is easier and better. I can always change the exposure with the over-ride button + or - in 1/3 increments up to 3 full stops for special instances.
I am so glad you responded Donna. 😊
This proves once again you can teach an old dog new tricks.
