This photo was taken at Old Glencoe National Historic Site in Alamance County, NC. It was an old mill town. I liked the raw grittiness of this building and took the shot to get some of the inside details through the old glass. I used Affinity Photo's Clone Stamp tool to clear up some extraneous paint in the upper left hand corner, then availed myself of the Filters/Plugins feature to apply two different filter effects from AKVIS Draw and Topaz Adjust, each on their own duplicate layer, then used the opacity controls to blend them in with the original.
If Adobe ever gets greedy and raises the price of their subscription, Affinity Photo is my backup editor. It will use MOST photoshop filters from within the interface, including AKVIS, NIK and Topaz fiters.
glad to see your explorations of PP apps and techniques
I got out of my comfort zone a bit with my P&S a few weeks ago with shots of reflective windows at the medical center and yesterday when I had an appointment in the same complex I took my 5DIV and did some more. After I catch up on my e-mail, UHH, FB etc I will go through them and see what I got.
Very nice work, Bob. I love Affinity!
Adobe? Yes, I recall that company... Were they in the 2008 bailout?
Affinity is a powerhouse unrecognized by too many transfixed on an old reliable name aaa -- like Studebaker.
I like this a lot, Bob. I have been looking at Affinity. Haven't purchased it yet, but your comments have inspired me - may just do that when we get home. The internet here in the mountains is too slow to try and download a program.
Have a good day and thanks, Rowedean
