I know this has been asked before, but I forgot to save the great suggestions. Am going to Sedona for a week and would like photo recommendations for the area.

Them there is the old Town of Jerome on 89 west, the town built on steepest mountain in the USA ..... Built on the side of the mountain looking back down towards sedona. Then there is Prescott and Watson lake.

Lots of others North on Flagstaff ever my granddaughter lives.......ALL of Arizona is a photo op.

You might give the visitor center a call too.

If you plug this into Google you'll get the best result. The UHH search engine is "wanting"

Actually, when I tried it before posting the suggestion, a long page of Sedona threads came up immediately. Reason I suggested searching UHH is that he'd probably find the input he had gotten previously.

That's a good thing. The reason I suggested using Google to search UHH though was that too many times when using the UHH engine I got a dry hole. I've had better results since I started going that way.

Your best bet for info is the AZ office of tourism. Self researching sites like Bing or Google will also deliver lots of useful info.
I'm curious; you didn't mention anything about your lenses and which ones to take. Are you really going on vacation or just interested in reading about Sedona? By the way, I've been there; it's a fascinatingly beautiful place.

I forget the name of the park that has an excellent view of Cathedral Rock at a vortex site. Get there as early as possible before the tour buses arrive. If the stream is low enough to cross, the better compositions are on the other side.

You will not really see the most beautiful parts unless you take the helicopter tour.
They take you were there are no roads.

There is a terrific pull out across from Courthouse Vista very close to Bell Rock.
A very short walk will get you to an excellent sunset view of the vista as well as Bell Rock.

Do the Pink Jeep tour - go where others fear to go. Try a helicopter ride to get a different view.

Great sunset shots from the airport road. Lots of people there every evening.

tripadvisor.com
The other would be a call to the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, they would be very happy to send you accurate and up to date info.
My personal suggestion would be to photograph sunsets from their airport.
