Wife skydiving for her B - Day. I will be on the ground taking photos as she is coming down. Will be using my Nikon D5300 W/ Sigma 18:250 Lens. Suggestion on Camera settings, please. Assume bright sunlight ( we hope ).
If she is jumping with another person, get a go pro for that person to wear so your wife can be filmed at her "level" on the way down. Good luck to both of you.
Be my guest, PS away ;-) Have a great day Saturday the both of you. Your wife will be high as a kite on adrenaline afterwards. It may be a long drive home for you ;-)
thank you all for the great answers. I think i'll use these pictures and just photo shop my wifes face in them ( a joke ). will make sure I post pictures of this event next week. she jumps this Saturday.
I can confirm that...............I "hope", in one hand, to one day wise up enough to pass inspection, color me doubtful.........
Not to sidetrack this important discussion, but FYI:
Wives think that being wrong is a bad thing!!!
I am not kidding!!! They do! I tried to explain to my wife that when I think back on those times in my life when I had the most fun, I was nearly always doing something she would consider wrong. I mean wrong and fun are nearly inseparable!
Ask if skydiving operation has a video operator. I payed extra, but have a video of my daughter, then me skydiving. It was great much better than any ground pictures.

Thanks Again everyone !!

These are really just snap shots taken when I was just getting started in photography. They were shot with a Nikon D5300 with a Nikkor 50-200mm lens. Settings were 1/800 sec f5.6 200mm. Had to wait until she was fairly close to ground to get any detail with a 200. Our son who is a qualified sky diver gave her the jump for her 65th birthday. There was a woman who went up just after her who was 85 and it was her third jump.

Roy, a word to the wise, there can be long waits (can be hours) at times, so bring a good book or something to occupy your time while you wait. (e.g. the Nikon owner's manual ;-) )
