This is a jpeg made from an undeveloped raw image. (I took the raw image and simply exported it as a jpeg with no changes.) I'm looking forward to seeing how y'all handle this image. I liked the thought of the image, but it had so many problems!

The above is supposed to be a link to the RAW file uploaded to Dropbox. Don't know if this will work or not. If not, maybe someone can tell me how to do that!

I was able to download the RAW file also. I wasn't sure if this "challenge" would continue with Linda's departure, but I am glad that you picked it up. I will see what I can do with it today.

This is my take. I tried a few edits but settled on this one done in Luminar 3.

Just a few adjustments in lightroom and a matting.

I have never been to Cathedral Gorge and didn't know what color the formations should be for sure. Kathy's picture looked flat but maybe the color is correct. My first go around came out much redder than this final edit. I did a Google search to see what their pictures might have been and found out they are all over the place with color. I know Kathy likes to keep her pictures as realistic as possible. I hope I did it justice.

A family portrait like this probably needs Portrait Pro, but I settled for Lightroom .

I've never used Luminar at all. Interesting.

I like the mat. When I actually print this, I'll look at that matting.

The RAW image was quite flat. And I was there at noon, so really bad lighting. There actually is quite a wide variety of colour there. The ground is almost pure white. The small hoodoos are quite light in colour. When you get up toward the top of the gorge, the colours get more intense and decidedly redder.

I also did it in B&W. Yours looks quite similar to what I ended up with.
