I finally had a great sky for imaging and was doing well until an Aurora shut me down. Quickly grabbed my camera w/ 6.5mm fisheye lens and shot a few subs for pictures and a time lapse.

Full album of the Aurora at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/brianallan/sets/72157710124855796/.

Time-lapse: https://www.flickr.com/photos/brianallan/48468527346/

Enjoy!

P.S.: I did manage to image a few DSO's before the Aurora arrived on the scene. One target shown below.

Possibly the most evocative, effective use of a Fish eye Lens I've ever seen!

I normally use a 14mm for Auroras but this one was just too big...

We normally get one like this every couple of years; big, bright and full sky. The last one I imaged was in May 2017 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/brianallan/sets/72157681383763363/).

Thanks for looking.

Enjoyed your shots/videos! Loved the aurora! Star shot is gorgeous, too!

I am envious! Wish I had had that lens while in Coldfoot, AK, couple of years ago (January-February 2017). Had border to border auroras, dancing several nights! Just couldn't get my lens to stretch that far. :(

Sometimes one's wide angle lens is just not enough. I normally shoot Auroras with a 14mm lens; wouldn't have worked for this one!

Holy Macaroni Brian!

Well, if something is going to shut out your deep space looking/imaging, those aurora's give you a whole new critter to chase.

Fantastic!

Beautiful set Brian. I really like the Pelican/North American.
